About Barry Whitfill

A native Texas born and raised Ft. Worth, Barry graduated from East Texas State University. After earning his Masters degree in counseling from Adams State University in Colorado, he returned to Texas and completed a Masters Degree in Special Education from East Texas State University (Texas A&M – Commerce.) Barry taught developmentally disabled students in public school for five years and began a successful industrial career in the Houston/Gulf Coast area. He served as president of Texgas Propane , which was later acquired by BTU Gases, LLC a liquefied petroleum gas and industrial gas distributor based in Pearland, TX.

Barry is married to his wife of thirty-five years, Paula. Paula retired from the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District after a thirty year career. They have three adult children, Matthew, Clay, and Bethany. Bethany currently teaches special education in the Kerrville Independent School District.

Barry and Paula moved to the Camp Verde in 2005 and opened a Sylvan Learning Center in Kerrville after Paula retired from teaching. They operated their center until 2009 when they ultimately retired. Barry decided to enter the real estate profession after six years of retirement because it had always been an area of interest to him. He and Paula have owned numerous investment and rental properties throughout their years together. They currently have a vacation home in the Frio Canyon area and enjoy vacation rental income from it. Barry felt he had developed a valuable expertise in real estate and had a desire to help individuals reach their family’s goals in their real estate endeavors, whatever they might be, whether it be that first home, their dream home for their family, a farm or hunting ranch, or that special vacation, hill country get-away.
